Seasons Greetings

Me and my parnter did a good job on making the music work with the video. I liked how other groups had more information about their holidays. I would have liked to add more info but we also wanted to keep our video short. Specifically I edited each clip and put it on the time line. I helped my parntner by helping him fix the volume levels on the music and our voices. If I had another chance to complete this video i would re film and learn mylines better because i know that i could have done a lot better talking to the camera.

Green Screen Workshop

A green screen works by filming with a green screen in the background. Then when you edit it, green is a really easy color to get out. Then when the green is out you can put a background in it. An important consideration when filming with a green screen is to make sure there are no shadows because then the green is really hard to get out. A problem when tying to eliminate the green is that sometimes if there are shadows, the green is darker in the shadow and it is harder to get out. After affects was easier because you just click on the green and it came out.

5 things i have learned form watching this video are:
1. That you can edit or adjust the speed of a clip.
2. To have a student definition and an actual definition of cybrbullying.
3. Change the setting/background to attract the viewer.
4. Have a councler and a teacher (or atleast 2 adults) to be interviewed to get a real meaning.
5. Have a number that can really help students who are being cyberbullied.

Cyberbullying Project Final

The thing about my video that i am most satisfied with is the order of all of our clips. The comments that were most helpful in editing my video were the ones about grammer and volume because it helped me see what i needed to fix rather than what to keep. The changes i made in my final video were fixing the volume where it most needed it, fixing all the grammer and spelling errors and also lengthening some of the clips so you can actually read them. If i had another day or two to edit my video i would probably fade out the music a little bit, and fix some of the minor volume issues during the interviews. If I had a chance to do the project all over again I would add more interviews and infromation about cyberbullying. Some realizations and discoveries that i had about making videos is that it isn't as easy as it looks, and there is alot of different things you could do to edit your videos. I think i did very well on my project and there is not much that I would change about my fianl.

Title Workshop3

This is an example of a template title, which means you use a title that the computer has already created. You might use this kind of title when you want a fancy title.

Title Workshop2

This is an example of a lower third title, which means the title is in the bottom right corner of the clip. You might use this kind of title when you want to put information about a clip, on the clip.

Title Workshop

This is an example of an custom, full screen title, which means you edit it yourself and it takes up the whole screen. You might use this kind of title when you start your video.

Lifting and Extracting

A simple cut in the timeline means to delete a clip from the timeline. When you cut, the other clips in the timeline stay where they are.
A ripple edit is when you delete a clip but the remaining clips shift together. You do this by right clicking the clip and choosing ripple edit. When you ripple edit, the other clips to the right of the deleted clip, shift to the left.
Lifting and extracting are two ways to cut out a clip at one time. To do this, you right click the clip and choose which one you wznt to do.
Lifting is like taking it away, while extracting is like replacing it, in terms of what happens to the other clips in the timeline.
This is an example of a ripple edit. I decided to ripple edit the two clips where I did because it made it appear to have continuos jumping.

Insert1Andrade

This is an example of insert edit. An insert edit places a clip between a pre-exsisting clip. To do this you drag the clip frrom the source panel to the timeline, and seperate the two clips so that you don't record over. I decided to insert the 2nd clip where i did because it is inbetween the two jumps. This makes the girl look more interested in the horse jumping.

The difference between an overlay and an insert and an insert edit is that in an overlay you have record over the exsisting clip, and in an insert you make room for the 2nd clip. You would use an overlay when you want to take out record over one clip, while you'd use an insert edit when you want to put a new clip in the middle of an old clip. In this case the overlay edit works better because the first clip finishes after the second clip plays. I think that it flows together better.

Overlay1Andrade

This is an example of overlay edit. An overlay edit places a clip ontop of an exsisting clip. To do this, you drag a clip from the source panel to the timeline, and place it over an exsisting clip. I decided to overlay the 2nd clip where i did because it makes it look like the girl is watching the the horse go over his second jump. This effect is cool because it shows the horse clear its first jump, then it shows the girl looking and smiling, next it shows the horse after it finishes its second jump.

Baler Interviews

I think I am getting better at finding good in and out points, and editing the video correctly. In my last video I was talking during my title. This time I made sure that this didnt happen. I did a good job of putting the vidoes in a good order. I'm happy with the way I executed the prject because I did it in a timely manner. I should have picked the right format before I started working on the video. Because we chose the wrong format, the clips are small and in the center of the screen, instead of being in full screen like it should be. If i could do this project over, I would make sure I pick the right format so that the video is in full screen. On my next project I would like to learn how to corrctly set up the format so that this mistake is not made again. One way I helped my partner was when he was gone I got the video done. My partner helped me by exporting the video and uploading it on to youtube, which I did not know how to do. On this project I gained a better idea about how to set the in and out points. What helped me figure this out was to not cut people out while they were talking. One challenge we faced was not picking the correct format. We never overcame this because it was too late to change it.

Andrade_intro01

I have learned how to edit a video using premiere. I can do the set in point and set out point. What I like about my final product is how i ended it with me smiling. I would like to improve on when to put the title with the audio. I would like to learn how to raise the volume of the audio.
I helped my partner upload his video on youtube and put it on his blog. My partner helped me edit my video. Actually editing my video helped me understand the skills I needed to learn. A challenged I faced with the technology was thatI didnt quite understand what all the icons did on the editing program.

***NOTE: Our computer didnt have audio.***

Patience

The message in this video was patience. The video was shot in the middle of the day to show that the cement worker had been working on it, in the sun, for a while. The sun's facial expressions on the son and the cement worker helped show how he had patience with the son. The cement worker looked frustrated, but when he saw the son's innocent face, he thought about it and realized that the child didnt know.

Our Group's Descussion About Values.com

Our group liked "The Purse" video the best. It showed the value of honesty. We like the way the boy went through all that trouble just to give the purse back to the lady. It was cool because he looked like a "bad boy", but turns out doing the right thing.
